Finding the right practitioner can make all the difference. We invite you to get to know Heidi—her approach, her experience, what she’s passionate about treating, and how she supports her patients!

What inspired you to become an acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner?

  • I had a very painful wrist injury that didn’t seem to be getting better with massage, PT and chiropractic and a co-worker suggested I try acupuncture and in one session all my pain was gone.  It felt like a miracle and I knew then that I wanted to figure out how that could be possible, and that’s how I got interested in learning acupuncture.

How long have you been practicing and how has your approach evolved over time?

  • I’ve been licensed since 2018 and it seems the more I learn, the more I realize how much more there is to learn about this ancient practice.  There are so many rabbit holes to go into with this medicine, and I have found that I resonate with certain lineages and study with and from the masters from those lineages.  I think my treatments have been evolving to become more complex over the years as I learn more.

What’s your philosophy on healing and long-term wellness?

  • The things we put into our bodies and how we take care of ourselves play a big role in our health and wellness.

What conditions or concerns do you most enjoy treating?

  • I enjoy treating all sorts of conditions, but I especially love helping people with their stress, supporting mental wellness, pain management, and nervous system regulation.

Describe your treatment style in 3 words:

  • Gentle, intuitive, collaborative

What do you love most about being an acupuncturist/herbalist?

  • It’s a very rewarding profession, and I love helping people feel better, whether it’s reducing their pain, helping them sleep better, or feeling less stress.

What’s something you’ve learned from your patients?

  • Sometimes the gentlest treatment can have the most positive outcomes.

What do you enjoy doing outside the clinic?

  • Kayaking, biking, just being in nature!

Where in New Orleans do you go when you want to relax and replenish?

  • City Park, Audubon Park, and anywhere I can walk along the river.
